SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP BASICS

Dad - Here is a thought to chew on for a while.

You are in the best position to teach your children about God.

Have you ever thought about that? How important is it? Where can I learn how to do that? What does that mean? You may have been a dad for many years and never thought about this before. Maybe you think about it a lot, and it makes you sweat.

Consider the words of J.W. Alexander in his book Thoughts on Family Worship, written in 1858.

"There is no member of a household whose individual piety is of such importance to all the rest, as the father…Where the head of a family is lukewarm…he will send a chill through the whole house; and if any happy exception occur, and one and another surpass him in faithfulness, it will be in spite of his…example."

So, how well are you leading?

  1. Rob was a mentor for my son who is now in the Marines in Iraq. Rob is an amazing example and leader for young people and an excellent teacher for parents. Visit this blog often and watch for his new book coming out soon!
